The FAI Fix and Non-Operative Management of Intra-Articular Hip Pain (feat. Shane Dowd)
By Shane Dowd , CES, CMP
In today’s super-nerdy podcast, I talk with Dr. Daniel Braun, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Certified Personal Trainer, Biohacker, Entrepreneur, Writer, and Speaker about – you guessed it – hip impingement!
Here’s what Dr. Dan had to say about our podcast interview:
In this episode of the Brawn Body Health and Fitness Podcast - Dan is joined by Shane Dowd to discuss Shane's diagnosis of FAI in addition to strategies for managing intra-articular hip pathologies such as FAI and labrum pathology.
Shane helps people fix injuries, get flexible & build bulletproof bodies (for life). He is a Certified Massage Practitioner (CMP), Strength & Conditioning Coach, and Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES).
In 2011, Shane had lots of pain, zero flexibility, and a broken body: Doctors, X-rays, and MRIs told Shane he had a nasty hip impingement (femoroacetabular impingement/cam morphology).
To make matters worse, he also had labral damage and a subchondral cyst. The cherry on top was – he also had scoliosis, shoulder impingement, back pain, neck pain, knee pain, and more (17 injuries in total.)
Now nearly 40 years of age, Shane is pain-free and more functional than he was in his 20's!
