WHY Hip Mobility is NOT the Key to EVERYTHING
By Shane Dowd , CES, CMP
😳 Yup, I said it.
Hip mobility might hurt rather than help. GASP!
Shocking, but hear me out...
This situation (more mobility not being helpful to fix hip pain) is so common that we call it "Scenario 2" in our popular FAI Fix program.
In fact, we devote entire sections and countless exercises to exploring exactly what you can do if you fit this description!
🤷 So, WHY does hip mobility help some and NOT others...
In short, some people already have too much mobility (hypermobile.)
What they lack is stability, strength and motor control. This means that their recovery program will involve more "strengthening and less "mobilizing."
For this type of person, they need to follow these 3 simple steps to go from flexible (yet painful) hips to strong, stable, "game-ready" hips.
Watch the video for these 3 steps and much more!
🤔 Specifically, in this video you will learn:
- Who will NOT benefit from hip mobility?
- What did Ido Portal teach Shane about training?
- What is the 3-step process to fix unstable hips?
- How to make the hips work in the most coordinated way?
- What are the examples of complex multi-joint movement?
- How do you get back to full speed sprinting & playing sports?
Enjoy the video! 😃
