POSTERIOR PELVIC TILT: (4 STEP FIX!)
By Shane Dowd , CES, CMP
🤔 Do you have poor posture from Posterior Pelvic Tilt (PPT)?
Posterior pelvic tilt is when your pelvis tips backward and the natural curve of your lumbar spine (low-back) is lessened or reversed.
😅 Think of it like a dog going poo...
☝️ WHY this matters is because, WITHOUT a natural curve in your lower back, you may be placing your lower back at a higher risk of developing:
- Back pain
- Disc bulges
- Nerve issue
- Muscular injuries
The main culprit is poor "desk posture" and prolonged sitting.
This chronic sitting also affects your upper-body posture in a bad way (rounded shoulders, forward head posture, "text-neck", etc.)
⚠️ TO BE CLEAR: Having a pelvis that CAN rotate backward is normal! BUT, if your pelvis is stuck in this position, that is where the problem is!
In today's comprehensive 24-min video guide, I show you how to fix PPT!
👍 Specifically, in this video you will learn:
- What is posterior pelvic tilt and it's cause?
- What does A.R.T stand for and how it helps?
- What are the 4 keys to fix posterior pelvic tilt?
- How does tissue work help fix posterior pelvic tilt?
- Which muscles to stretch and which to strengthen?
- Which 3 muscles primarily cause posterior pelvic tilt?
- ...and much more!
